Actuation for Fire Suppression Systems to 80 Bar
A latching actuator with an integrated supervisory feature suitable for gaseous suppression systems that operate at pressures up to 80 bar.

Customer Problem
In 2016 new codes and standards were implemented in the gaseous extinguishing market that require an audible or visual signal at the fire alarm control panel (FACP) if the actuator is removed from the suppression system’s discharge valve. There was a need to supply the necessary supervisory component for suppression systems that use a small footprint to protect a large room. These systems hold the suppressant agent in small tanks at pressures up to 80 bar.
The TLX Solution
TLX Technologies developed a latching actuator for these higher pressure systems with an integrated supervisory feature. This actuator uses a strong mechanically compressed spring and a magnet to hold the spring in place while the actuator is latched prior to firing. Because the supervisory feature is self-contained, TLX’s Increased Force Supervised Latching Actuator is easier to use and install than add-on supervisory components offered by other companies.
