Low-Profile Solenoid Lock with Supervisory Feedback
Customer Problem
This solenoid-actuated locking system provides a combination of several patent-pending features that make it especially attractive to OEMs with applications requiring locking mechanisms in a limited space. The low-profile of the mechanism mated with the relatively long stroke of the locking pin allows for flexibility in applications where space is limited but strong lockout load is essential.
The TLX Solution
The unique design of the locking pin allows for an open door to be closed and locked without impacting the solenoid’s lock state. Designed as a latching, two-position solenoid, the mechanism requires power only to change states. A short pulse of reverse polarity to the solenoid will change the state of the lock. Supervisory feedback of the locking pin position has been integrated into this smart design. Scalable based on application requirements.
