Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Assistant is responsible for performing administrative and clerical tasks in supporting the quality department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

All employees at TLX work to satisfy the customer. Each department has expected core responsibilities, but these responsibilities do not define us. Rather, they simply provide a starting point where we work to satisfy the customer, and continuously improve ourselves, others, and the organization.

  • Supports the supplier correction action process
  • Writes up Non-conforming including scrap material reports; issues to suppliers
  • Supports kaizen activity and related activities
  • Responsible for the ordering, maintaining, and calibrating of gauging (external calibration)
  • Performs first and last piece inspection in production
  • Backup to programming and operating touch probe equipment

Quality Assistant

Demonstrated Competence:

  • Understands and utilizes all applicable TLX processes and procedures.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Blueprint Reading experience
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of products with basic working knowledge of Excel
  • Previous manufacturing environment experience preferred
  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) experience preferred
  • A firm understanding of ISO 9000 and operate under said system preferred
  • Related quality assurance experience is highly preferred
  • Basic metrology experience (calipers, gages) preferred

  • LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as purchase orders, requisitions, quotations, and various other related documents. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and other employees of the organization.

  • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

  • REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of FedEx and UPS shipping systems is preferred. Ability to read blueprints preferred but will train.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts while on the production floor. The noise level is moderate on the production floor and low in the office area.
