Quality Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dimensional Inspection: Perform detailed inspections using calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and other precision instruments.
  • Verify Measurement Accuracy: Calibrate and maintain measurement equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Production & Prototype Support: Inspect components during Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Initial Runs (IR), and prototype phases.
  • Documentation: Record and report measurement data and non-conformances clearly and accurately.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve discrepancies.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Process Improvement: Support continuous improvement of measurement procedures and accuracy.
  • Gage R&R: Conduct studies to validate measurement consistency across equipment and users.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to metrology tools and instrumentation.

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of metrology, instrumentation, or calibration experience
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of calibration, PPAP/IR inspection processes, and Gage R&R studies

This role requires a combination of physical activity and precision. Team members in this position regularly stand, walk, sit, reach overhead, and communicate clearly with others. Occasionally, you may need to lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

The work environment includes both office and production floor settings. While on the production floor, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level ranges from low in the office to moderate in the production area.
