Intrinsically Safe Latching Solenoid
This latching solenoid featured high-speed plunger extension and was designed for safe use in flammable environments.
The intrinsically safe latching solenoid was designed to prevent a fluid pump from entering an overspeed condition and used energy-limiting circuitry to keep the solenoid’s electrical output below the ignition threshold for atomized flammable substances. The solenoid used only a short pulse of current to extend the plunger and drew no current to maintain position.
