TLX Hosts Students, Dignitaries for Manufacturing Day 2013
On October 1, 2013, TLX Technologies held its annual Manufacturing Day celebration to kick off Wisconsin’s Manufacturing Month.
Local middle and high school students toured TLX’s facility to learn more about Wisconsin manufacturing. The tour included hands-on demonstrations, discussions, and presentations that encompassed all aspects of manufacturing, from engineering and design to production.
Lt. Governor Rebecca Kleefisch, DWD Secretary Reggie Newson, Senator Paul Farrow, and other local dignitaries also visited TLX in the afternoon to launch the statewide Manufacturing Month festivities.
Here is what some of the student visitors and teachers had to say:
"The TLX field trip was a great experience for me because as of right now I have a new outlook on engineering and the different types of engineering." -Student Visitor
"We, at Project Change, would like to express our most sincere gratitude for inviting our school to participate in MFG Day at TLX Technologies. This has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to observe and experience numerous real life applications between high school and their future. Everyone at TLX was so welcoming and related to our students so they could better understand the entire process of the manufacturing industry in Wisconsin and the potential career options at a thriving company like TLX. Thank you and TLX Technologies for so generously sharing your time and resources to provide this essential opportunity for our students." -Sincerely, Tracy Mitchell, M.Ed, School Coordinator/Teacher
"Thank you for inviting us to TLX Technologies for our field trip. I enjoyed learning how manufacturing companies such as yours use the same programs that we use in class to create products much like your solenoids."- Dominick, Student Visitor
"Going to TLX was a great experience. It really got me interested in engineering and what an engineer does. It seems everyone there enjoyed their job. It was an enlightening field trip and the snack at the end was a plus." -Student Visitor
TLX Technologies would like to thank WMEP, Waukesha County Business Alliance, and Pewaukee Chamber of Commerce for all their help in making this event a success!
