Long-Stroke Latching Solenoid
A battery-powered solenoid with a long stroke that drew no current to maintain state.
The long-stroke latching solenoid was designed for an electric braking system. This solenoid used only a short pulse of current to actuate and used a permanent magnet to hold the armature in the latched position. It was so energy efficient that just four AA batteries could power the solenoid for a minimum of 10,000 cycles.
