Our History

Since the beginning, our strength has been in the continued development of unique, progressive technologies that provide exceptional opportunities for growth and expansion within markets utilizing electro-mechanical solenoids, actuators, and valves.

Founded in 1996, TLX Technologies' first program was the development of high-speed digital valves that would safely control vehicle airbag inflation. There had been multiple child fatalities due to the excessive forces transmitted to vehicle occupants as a result of airbag inflation. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) was searching for ways to eliminate these fatalities. TLX's founders believed the solution to this problem was properly controlling the force with which airbags inflated.

During the development of these valves, the NHTSA changed its requirements. As a result, the air bag inflation valves that TLX had been developing never made it to market. However, TLX adapted this technology to many other markets including fire protection, automotive, and industrial along with general consumer, recreational vehicle, and standby power system applications.
